STAFF REGENT ELECTION
Five candidates are running for the Staff Regent position:
There will be two Staff Regent forums on Wednesday,
May 16 at 9am and 3pm in the Herndon Lounge of the Powell Student Center.
The Board of Regents of Eastern Kentucky University consists of 11 members
(8 appointed by the Governor, one member of the teaching faculty, one member
of the university nonteaching personnel, and one member of the student body).
The Staff Regent is elected for a three-year term and is a voting member of
the Board with the same duties and responsibilities as all other members.
The current term for the nonteaching Staff Regent ends on June 30, 2012.
As charged by the EKU Board of Regents, the Staff Council is to conduct the
election for Staff Regent.
The election will be held online beginning at 8:30am
on May 21 and ending at 4:30pm on May 22. If a runoff election is
needed, it will be held from 8:30am on June 4 and end at 4:30pm on June 5.
To foster communication and serve as a communication conduit between staff and
the President, provide recommendations on all matters pertaining to staff, and
promote the welfare of all staff through professional development and formal
recognition while serving the Mission of the University.
